      Hey,
      are you using http://www.google.com/webmasters/
      if not use this, this will give you insight view of your crawler status.

      so when gogole will ask you for adding a link, this will generate and random page in html and google will check that page.
      so for me this is the random html page.

      so now in wordpress, you create new page, and cross-verify from google webmasters page. If all things done properly then you have more things to explore in webmster tool.
